John Humphreys John Humphreys is a Program Vice President with IDC's Enterprise Platform Group where he heads up the Enterprise Virtualization Software program covering the range of virtualization products deployed in both data center and client environments. The program also examines the role of manageability in the emerging virtual environment. Additional areas of focus include the adoption of blade servers, the modularization of the data center along with the automation and virtualization of the data center environment, and the emergence of grid computing in the enterprise. Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Humphreys worked in the energy industry where he combined his geological and geophysical background along with an interest in unconventional exploration opportunities to develop risk profiles, technical and financial models for a wide range of projects, including a division portfolio analysis, strategic analysis related to company positioning and complex reservoir development programs. His interest in technology and in examining emerging market opportunities is what led Mr. Humphreys to IDC in 1999. Mr. Humphreys received a B.A and M.S. from Miami University and University of Wyoming respectively. |
